Real-time Fire Eagle with XMPP – Seth Fitzsimmons and Tom Coates
Fire Eagle helps users capture, manage and share information about where they are, and services personalise themselves to those user's location. Recently, the Fire Eagle team launched their XMPP API, which makes it possible for a site to get real-time notifications every time a user changes location. We'll talk about why that's cool, how to get yourself up and running with it and other things you can do with real- time stuff.
Seth Fitzsimmons
Seth is the lead developer of Fire Eagle. In his free time, he plays in small plastic boats and hacks on whatever's currently shiniest.
Tom Coates
Tom runs the Fire Eagle project for Yahoo! He thinks and talks about the web of data, personal instrumentation, future media distribution and social software. He is currently single.
